There is hereby appropriated from the General Fund of the state to the Fair Political Practices Commission the sum of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) annually above and beyond the appropriations established for the commission in the fiscal year immediately prior to the effective date of this act, adjusted for cost-of-living changes, for expenditures to support the operations of the commission pursuant to this act. If any provision of this act is successfully challenged, any attorneyâs fees and costs shall be paid from the General Fund and the commissionâs budget shall not be reduced accordingly.
