(a) The San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority is hereby established as a regional entity with jurisdiction extending throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. (b) The jurisdiction of the authority is not subject to the Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000 (Division 3 (commencing with Section 56000) of Title 5). (c) The authority’s purpose is to raise and allocate resources for the restoration, enhancement, protection, and enjoyment of wetlands and wildlife habitats in the San Francisco Bay and along its shoreline.
