As used in this chapter: (a) âLocal agencyâ means any city, county, city and county, school district, special district, authority, other political subdivision of or within the state, an association or consortium of school districts formed or operating pursuant to Section 35179 of the Education Code, or any joint powers authority composed of any of these agencies. (b) âOriginal boardâ means the first board of directors constituted and selected pursuant to Section 6599.06. (c) âBoardâ means the original board and any successor board selected and constituted under this chapter.
