(a) Upon the death of any member after retirement, any retirement allowance earned but not yet paid to the member shall, notwithstanding any other provision of law, be paid to the memberâs designated beneficiary. (b) Upon the death of any person receiving a survivorâs allowance under this chapter, any allowance earned but not yet paid to the survivor shall, notwithstanding any other provision of law, be paid to the survivorâs designated beneficiary. (c) For purposes of this section, âbeneficiaryâ includes, but is not limited to, a corporation, a trust, or an estate.
