(a) A California state bank shall prominently display in the lobby of its main office and each branch office, except an automated teller machine branch office, a notice that any person may obtain a financial report from the bank. The notice shall include the address and telephone number of the person or office to be contacted for a financial report. The bank shall, promptly after receiving a request for a financial report, mail or otherwise furnish the financial report to the requester. The first financial report shall be provided without charge. (b) The financial report called for in this section shall contain either (1) the information that the commissioner may require by regulation or (2) in the absence of a regulation, the last balance sheet and income statement, each without any schedules, that the bank filed with the commissioner pursuant to Section 453.
