(a) There is in state government the California Date Commission. Except as otherwise provided in Section 77752.5, the commission is composed of six date handlers from District 1 and may include one public member. (b) The public member shall be appointed to the commission by the secretary from nominees recommended by the other members of the commission. (c) The secretary, and other appropriate individuals, as determined by the commission, shall be ex officio members of the commission.
