Notwithstanding any other provision of this code, each sponsor is entitled to sponsor as many candidates as there are seats in the county council election district. Candidate names listed on a single sponsorâs certificate, and the signatures on the certificate shall count toward the sponsor requirement of each and every candidate whose name is listed on the certificate. The number of candidates having their names on a sponsorâs certificate shall not exceed the number of members of a county council to be elected in the district.
