(a) For the purposes of this article, “subject matter shortage area” may not be construed to include teaching in a self-contained classroom or teaching pursuant to a multiple subject credential. (b) The list, furnished by the Superintendent of Public Instruction pursuant to Section 69613.1 and relating to teaching fields that have the most critical shortage of teachers, shall not include teaching in a self-contained classroom or teaching pursuant to a multiple subject credential.
