(a) This section shall apply to all segments of postsecondary education in this state. (b) Except for purposes of an application for a professional degree or law enforcement basic training courses and programs, a postsecondary educational institution shall not inquire about a prospective studentâs criminal history on an initial application form or at any time during the admissions process before the institutionâs final decision relative to the prospective studentâs application for admission. (c) A postsecondary educational institution shall make any necessary changes to its application form to comply with subdivision (b) by the fall term of the 2021â22 academic year.
