(a) The state board shall hold a public hearing before adopting instructional materials for use in the elementary schools of the state. (b) Upon review of the commissionâs recommendations for instructional materials, the Superintendent may make alternative recommendations for instructional materials and the state board shall consider the Superintendentâs recommendations before making its decision to adopt instructional materials. (c) The state board shall consider comments from other advisory bodies and the public before making its decision to adopt instructional materials.
