Any person, firm, corporation, or agent or officer of a firm or corporation, that violates or omits to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter, or that employs or suffers any minor under 18 years of age who is too old to be subject to compulsory full-time school attendance to be employed in violation thereof, is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100), nor more than four hundred dollars ($400), or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 60 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment for each and every offense.
