(a) All payments from the district retirement fund shall be made in the same manner as payments from school district funds but shall be subject to approval of the district retirement board. Warrants drawn on the fund shall be signed by at least one member of the district retirement board who shall be designated by the board. (b) The duties imposed upon the county treasurer shall be a part of his or her official duties, for the faithful performance of which he or she shall be liable upon his or her official bond.
