The State Librarian may consider for rendering into embossed braille any print books and other materials, excluding textbooks, requested by an eligible patron with print disabilities. Consideration of the patronâs request shall be dependent upon available staffing, resources, and technical proficiency at the time of the request. Books and other materials rendered into embossed braille pursuant to this section may be placed in the California State Libraryâs circulating collection for use by all patrons with print disabilities.
