(a) The county superintendent of schools may sell publications that he or she produces. (b) The county superintendent of schools, with the approval of the county board of education, may fix the price, not to exceed the estimated cost of production, for the sale of any publication produced by him or her. (c) All moneys received from the sale of publications produced by the county superintendent of schools shall be deposited to the credit of the fund against which the cost of printing the publication was charged. (d) This section does not authorize a county superintendent of schools to prepare or publish written materials, the preparation or publication of which is not otherwise authorized by law.
