âOther business entityâ means a domestic or foreign limited liability company, limited partnership, general partnership, business trust, real estate investment trust, unincorporated association, or a domestic reciprocal insurer organized after 1974 to provide medical malpractice insurance as set forth in Article 16 (commencing with Section 1550) of Chapter 3 of Part 2 of Division 1 of the Insurance Code. As used herein, âgeneral partnershipâ means a âpartnershipâ as defined in Section 16101; âbusiness trustâ means a business organization formed as a trust; âreal estate investment trustâ means a âreal estate investment trustâ as defined in subsection (a) of Section 856 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended; and âunincorporated associationâ has the meaning set forth in Section 18035.
