An action pursuant to Section 52 or 54.3 may be brought in any court of competent jurisdiction. A âcourt of competent jurisdictionâ shall include small claims court if the amount of the damages sought in the action does not exceed the jurisdictional limits stated in Sections 116.220 and 116.221 of the Code of Civil Procedure.
