(a) Each applicant for a certificate under this chapter shall file an application with the executive officer, on a form as prescribed by the board. The last date to file an application shall be a set number of days as established by the board’s regulations. The application shall be accompanied by the required fee. For purposes of determining the date upon which an application is deemed filed with the executive officer, the date of postmark as affixed by the United States Postal Service, or the date certified by a bona fide private courier service on the envelope containing the application shall control. (b) Nothing in this section shall be construed to limit the board’s authority to seek from any applicant any other information pertinent to the background, education, and experience of the applicant that may be deemed necessary in order to evaluate the applicant’s qualifications and fitness for licensure.
