As used in this article the following definitions shall apply: (a) âBoardâ means the Medical Board of California. (b) âLicensed midwifeâ means an individual to whom a license to practice midwifery has been issued pursuant to this article. (c) âCertified nurse-midwifeâ means a person to whom a certificate has been issued pursuant to Article 2.5 (commencing with Section 2746) of Chapter 6. (d) âAccrediting organizationâ means an organization approved by the board.
