(a) The board shall approve podiatric residency programs, as defined in Section 2475.2, in the field of podiatric medicine, for persons who are applicants for or have been issued a certificate to practice podiatric medicine pursuant to this article. (b) The board may only approve a podiatric residency that it determines meets all of the following requirements: (1) Reasonably conforms with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Educationâs Institutional Requirements of the Essentials of Accredited Residencies in Graduate Medical Education: Institutional and Program Requirements. (2) Is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education. (3) Complies with the requirements of this state.
