The dental hygiene board shall license as a registered dental hygienist in extended functions a person who meets all of the following requirements: (a) Holds a current license as a registered dental hygienist in California. (b) Completes clinical training approved by the dental hygiene board in a facility affiliated with a dental school under the direct supervision of the dental school faculty. (c) Performs satisfactorily on an examination required by the dental hygiene board. (d) Completes an application form and pays all application fees required by the dental hygiene board.
