Escape from youth services center or facilities

(a) If any delinquent youth committed to the Division of Youth Services escapes or absents himself or herself from a youth services center or facility without authorization, he or she may be returned to the facility by a law enforcement officer without further proceedings. (b) No law enforcement officer, Department of Human Services State Institutional System Board member, division employee, or other person shall be subject to suit or held criminally or civilly liable for his or her actions provided he or she acts in good faith and without malice in the apprehension and return of escapees.
