(a) A director who is a public official may serve on the board of directors of a property assessed energy improvement district during his or her term of office as the county judge or mayor of a member of the district. (b) A director who is the designated representative of the mayor or county judge of a member of a district serves at the pleasure of the mayor of the city or the county judge of the county that is a member of the district.
