Arkansas Tech STEM Institute

(a) Arkansas Tech STEM Institute shall be administered under the direction of Arkansas Tech University. (b) The institute shall utilize a multidisciplinary collaboration of professionals to explore, develop, implement, and evaluate new and better ways to integrate the teaching, study, and performance of the following for academic, economic, and economic development purposes in the state: (1) Business; (2) Engineering; (3) Emergency management; (4) Agriculture; (5) Health care; (6) Technical programs; and (7) Computer sciences. (c) The priorities of the institute shall include without limitation: (1) Economic development; (2) Technology development; and (3) Cyber-park development. (d) The university shall make annual reports to the Legislative Council or, if the General Assembly is in session, the Joint Budget Committee, on all matters regarding the following as they relate to the institute: (1) Funding; (2) Existing programs offered by the institute; and (3) Services offered through the institute.
