As used in this chapter: (1) "Adult education program" means any classes designed to assist students in preparing for a high school equivalency test and any class designed to improve performance in general basic skills, parenting, English proficiency, or other areas funded by the Adult Education Section; and (2) "Applied general education courses" means courses from mathematics, communications, social sciences, and similar fields specifically addressing the employment needs of students in one (1) or more occupational programs.
