(a) The State Insurance Department is authorized and directed to meet legal requirements with reference to coverage on buildings as a result of school district, education service cooperative, or open-enrollment public charter school bond obligations. (b) The specific intent of this section is to ensure that policies issued by the Public Elementary and Secondary School Insurance Program include provisions required by existing school district bond contracts.
