(a) Before any permit authorized by this subchapter shall be issued and delivered to any applicant therefor, the applicant shall make and subscribe to an oath that: (1) He or she will not allow any intoxicating liquor as defined by this subchapter of any kind or character, including beer, wine, and distilled spirits, having an alcoholic content in excess of five percent (5%) by weight to be kept, stored, or secreted in or upon the premises described in the permit; and (2) The applicant will not otherwise violate any law of this state or knowingly allow any other person to violate any statute while in or upon the premises. (b) No manufacturer, distributor, or wholesale dealer to whom or to which this subchapter applies shall have any direct or indirect interest in the business of any person, firm, or corporation applying for and securing or holding a permit as a retail dealer, or in the furnishings or fixtures used in his or her or its place of business, or any lien thereon.
