(a) In addition to any other sentence resulting from a plea of guilty or nolo contendere or a finding of guilty to a traffic violation under this subchapter, the sentencing court shall assess an additional fine of five dollars ($5.00) for reckless driving, § 27-50-308 , or for speeding in excess of twenty miles per hour (20 m.p.h.) over the posted speed limit if the finder of fact determines that the traffic violation was committed while a person under eighteen (18) years of age was a passenger in the motor vehicle. (b) A fine assessed and collected under this section shall be remitted on or before the fifteenth day of the following month to the Arkansas Children's Advocacy Center Fund.
