Use of officially designated school bus colors or words "school bus" unlawful

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle that formerly was but is not now a school bus or a motor vehicle similar in shape and form to a school bus upon the public highways and roads of this state when the vehicle is painted with the officially designated school bus colors or has the words "SCHOOL BUS" marked thereon. (b) Any person violating the provisions of subsection (a) shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) and not more than one hundred dollars ($100).
