The purpose of this subchapter is to: (1) Continue the special license plates for the certain public service employees or public service retirees that existed before April 13, 2005, and to establish a procedure for other public service employees or retirees to obtain special license plates; (2) Honor the service of Cold War veterans by providing a special license plate that is available for issuance; (3) Honor those individuals who served in the armed forces, but did not serve during a conflict or long enough to retire, by providing a special license plate that is available for issuance; and (4) To recognize those individuals who serve as constables in the state.
