Action as to nonresidents

(a) Whenever the Office of Driver Services suspends or revokes a nonresident's operating privilege by reason of a conviction or forfeiture of bail, the privilege shall remain so suspended or revoked unless the person shall have previously given or shall immediately give and thereafter maintain proof of financial responsibility for the future. (b) If the defendant named in any certified copy of a judgment reported to the Office of Driver Services is a nonresident, the Office of Driver Services shall transmit a certified copy of the judgment to the official in charge of the issuance of licenses and registrations of the state of which the defendant is a resident.
