Reports to Office of Motor Vehicle by owners or lienholders

(a) The owner of or person having a lien or encumbrance upon a registered vehicle which has been stolen or embezzled may notify the Office of Motor Vehicle of the theft or embezzlement, but in the event of an embezzlement, may make a report only after having procured the issuance of a warrant for the arrest of the person charged with the embezzlement. (b) Every owner or other person who has given any such notice must notify the Office of Motor Vehicle of a recovery of the vehicle. Acts 1949, No. 142, § 68; A.S.A. 1947, § 75-168.
