(a) Whenever the owner of a registered trailer transfers or assigns his or her title, or interest thereto, the registration of the trailer shall expire. (b) The owner shall remove the license plate and any plate sticker, metal tab, or decal therefrom and forward them to the Office of Motor Vehicle.
