(a) The owner of any permanent license plate issued by the Secretary of the Department of Finance and Administration prior to January 1, 2002, may renew his or her registration, in person or by mail, at a county revenue office or with the secretary during any day from thirty (30) days prior to the date on which his or her registration shall expire. (b) Upon receiving notification by the secretary of his or her new permanent registration date, the applicant shall, within the time prescribed by the secretary, pay the fee set forth in § 27-14-601 .
