Tax Advisory Council

(a) The Secretary of the Department of Finance and Administration shall establish a Tax Advisory Council consisting of representatives of the Arkansas Bar Association, the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Arkansas Society of Accountants, the Office of Problems Resolution and Tax Information, other taxpayer-oriented groups, and other representatives of the Revenue Division of the Department of Finance and Administration. (b) The council shall meet annually to discuss tax law changes, compliance problems, and other related matters, and it shall study methods to expedite claims for refunds, protests, appeals, and cases which take an inordinate amount of time to complete. (c) The council will develop and submit a report to the chairs of the House Committee on Revenue and Taxation and the Senate Committee on Revenue and Taxation.
