Issuance of policy or renewal of contract prior to July 4, 1983

(a) "Insurance policy" and "contract" shall not be construed to mean a property insurance policy issued prior to July 4, 1983, or contract that is being renewed. (b) However, assignment of the insurance policy or contract because of the transfer of a major financial interest in the insured real property shall require completion of an antiarson application if otherwise required by this subchapter.
