Requirements for licensees - Exceptions

The provisions of this subchapter shall not apply to: (1) Those natural persons holding licenses for any kind or kinds of insurance for which an examination is not required by the laws of this state; (2) Any limited or restricted license the Insurance Commissioner may exempt; (3) Any natural person who is at least sixty (60) years of age; (4) Any natural person who has held an active license as an agent, solicitor, consultant, or broker for a period of at least fifteen (15) consecutive years; (5) The licensee as a firm, limited liability company, or corporation, but this exception does not apply to any individual or natural person unless already exempted; (6) Nonresident producers; (7) Licensed insurance consultants for life, accident and health, property, or casualty insurance or for other lines of insurance; (8) Nonresident agents and brokers in the first full year of resident licensing following the year after a change in the state of domicile or residency to the State of Arkansas, but thereafter annually or otherwise in accordance with insurance continuing education laws and rules of the commissioner; and (9) A member of the Arkansas National Guard on state active duty or a member of the United States Armed Forces on active duty, including without limitation an active duty member of the: (A) United States Coast Guard; or (B) Reserve components of the United States Armed Forces.
