(a) The State Highway Commission may pay all accrued and unused annual, holiday, and sick leave to the estate of an officer of the Arkansas Highway Police Division of the Arkansas Department of Transportation who dies in the line of duty. (b) A payment under subsection (a) of this section is subject to budgetary constraints and shall be disbursed after receipt of the official death certificate.
