Power and authority generally

The power and authority of a notary public shall be coextensive with the state for: (1) Swearing witnesses; (2) Taking affidavits; (3) Taking depositions under Rule 28 of the Arkansas Rules of Civil Procedure and Rule 28 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure; and (4) Taking acknowledgments of deeds and other instruments in writing and authorized by law to be acknowledged.
