Local control of county or city units of Department of Health

(a) The mayor or county judge of any city or county that is providing facilities for a local unit of the Department of Health shall be consulted before the hiring of or the removal of the administrator of the local unit. (b) Notwithstanding the Freedom of Information Act of 1967, § 25-19-101 et seq., the department with the consent of the employee may share personnel information with a mayor or county judge. (c) Furthermore, any employee removed as administrator of a local unit shall be allowed to participate in the state grievance process. Acts 2003, No. 657, § 1.
