Transportation of dead bodies

(a) (1) The State Board of Health shall prepare the necessary methods and forms and prescribe the rules regulating the issue and use of transfer permits, with the proper coupons attached thereto, to be issued by local organized boards of health or health officers, for the transportation of the dead bodies of persons that are to be transported for burial beyond the limits of the counties where the death occurred. (2) In all cases, the State Board of Health shall require the coupons to be attached to the permits, to be detached and preserved by every common carrier or the person in charge of any vessel, railroad train, or vehicle to whom the dead bodies shall be delivered for transportation.
