(a) (1) Every person operating any hotel, motel, apartment building, or other similar multiple-occupancy facility who shall fail or refuse to properly install and maintain an emergency lighting system, fire escape stairway and ladders, and a fire alarm system, in accordance with this subchapter, shall be guilty of a violation. (2) Upon conviction, the person shall be subject to a fine of not less than two hundred fifty dollars ($250) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000).
