The Department of Health may evaluate any or all of the following: (1) The research on osteoporosis being conducted within the state; (2) The available technical assistance, educational materials, and osteoporosis programs nationwide; (3) The level of public and professional awareness about osteoporosis; (4) The needs of osteoporosis patients, their families, and their caregivers; (5) The needs of healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and managed care organizations, in regard to caring for the osteoporosis patient; (6) The services available to the osteoporosis patient; (7) The existence of osteoporosis treatment programs; (8) The existence of osteoporosis support groups; and (9) The existence of rehabilitation services for osteoporosis patients.
