Demonstration projects for assessment agencies

(a) State agencies shall establish a demonstration project in a limited number of counties in order to develop a comprehensive long-term care assessment system. (b) This project shall develop the role of assessment agencies for the long-term care network. (c) These assessment agencies shall not be engaged in the provision of services but shall perform an assessment function to measure the client's total needs in order to refer the client to the appropriate level of care available.
