(a) This subchapter does not affect the power of counties, municipalities, improvement districts, and other public bodies to make a deposit of funds in the form of a demand deposit, a savings deposit, or a time deposit as authorized by law. (b) The adoption of this subchapter does not affect or impair the power of counties, municipalities, improvement districts, and other public bodies to make investments of funds in their possession or under their control as authorized by other laws.
