(a) The owner of any male animal, kept for the propagation of his species, shall have a lien upon any female animal and her offspring to which the male is let for the sum contracted therefor. (b) The lien shall attach at the time of service of the male and shall not be lost by reason of any sale, exchange, or removal from the county, or other disposition, without consent of the person holding the lien, in which case it may be immediately enforced.
