Appointment and function of viewers

(a) On presentation of the petition and proof of notice of publication as provided in § 18-15-902 , and the county court being satisfied that proper notice has been given in accordance with the provisions of § 18-15-907 , the court shall appoint three (3) disinterested citizens of the county as viewers. (b) The viewers shall be a jury to assess and determine the compensation to be paid in money for the property sought to be appropriated without deduction for benefits to any property of the owner. They shall also assess and determine what damage the owner of the land where the public landing is to be established shall suffer by the establishment of the landing.
