Medical director - Powers and duties

A qualified medical director shall: (1) Be readily available to respiratory care practitioners employed by or providing services for the organization he or she directs; and (2) Establish a policy that prohibits any person from ordering respiratory care for a patient, except a physician who has medical responsibility for the patient.
