(a) (1) Every applicant for licensure must have experience and internship in a retail pharmacy under a licensed pharmacist, approved by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy, before and after graduation and examination as the board shall deem necessary to maintain and preserve the reciprocal agreements with other states and territories. (2) The experience and internship in a retail pharmacy under a licensed pharmacist shall be predominantly related to the selling of drugs and medical supplies, compounding prescriptions, preparing pharmaceutical preparations, and keeping records and making reports required under the state and federal statutes. (b) The board is directed and empowered to establish an internship program whereby students and graduates of a recognized college of pharmacy may be permitted to practice pharmacy under the direction and control of a licensed pharmacist.
