(a) Any cause of action to recover damages suffered by a consumer as a result of any act or omission of a home inspector relating to a home inspection report must be commenced within one (1) year from the date the home inspection report is completed. (b) Disciplinary action taken against a home inspector by the State Board of Appraisers, Abstracters, and Home Inspectors shall not in and of itself be the basis for civil or criminal action.
