(a) Every survey of a parcel of real property made after March 30, 1981, shall include a statement of the number of acres or parts of acres included in the parcel surveyed. If the parcel surveyed includes lands situated in more than one quarter-quarter, the approximate number of acres of the parcel lying in each quarter-quarter shall be shown separately. (b) The General Assembly recognizes that every county assessor in the state is required by law to account for and list each parcel of real property and every acre within his or her jurisdiction. It is the intent and purpose of this section to assist the various assessors to carry out this responsibility by requiring that every survey of real estate made after March 30, 1981, specify therein the number of acres or parts of acres included in the survey.
